Nick Golding

Hi! I'm Nick, a mixing engineer and composer based in Sheffield, UK. I like a lot of different music but I tend to mix indie rock and synthpop - if it's melodic and emotional, I'll enjoy it :)

I learnt sound engineering by running the sound desk for live gigs while at university, but I'm more studio-based these days. I've been practicing my recording and mixing since then, and I was lucky enough to have some one-on-one mentoring with Sara Carter, who really helped me understand how to tell a story with a mix. From clarity and dynamics through to little moments that delight the listener, I make sure the mix captivates the audience and brings them on the emotional journey that's in the artist's vision.
